More Than a Diagnosis

Most people are taught to focus on a single symptom, diagnosis, or problem. While those experiences matter, they rarely exist in isolation. Anxiety may be connected to burnout. Burnout may be connected to caregiving responsibilities. Stress, identity, culture, health, or life transitions may shape relationship challenges.

At Bloom, therapy begins with the understanding that people are more than a diagnosis, challenge, or difficult moment. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and grounded in care, reflection, and accountability for your real life.

Together, we'll explore not only what is causing distress, but also the strengths, relationships, values, and resources that support meaningful and lasting change.

Why I Believe in This Work

Some of the experiences that shape my work most deeply are not topics I studied from a distance.

They are realities I have lived. Over time, I have come to understand how stress, loss, identity, trauma, caregiving, major life transitions, and the absence of support can affect every area of a person's life.

Those experiences strengthened my belief that struggle is not a sign of moral failure, and needing support is not a sign of weakness. They are part of being human.

That perspective continues to inform the way I show up as a therapist today.

You May Recognize Yourself in Some of the Following Experiences...

  • You understand the importance of well-being, but the realities of work, school, caregiving, finances, or other responsibilities leave little time or energy to invest in yourself.

  • You feel disconnected from your sense of purpose, meaning, or direction.

  • You feel like there is more to who you are than the story you've been living.

  • You've achieved many of your goals, yet something still feels missing.

  • You're navigating a major life transition and feeling uncertain about what comes next.

  • You're carrying stress, burnout, or overwhelm that no longer feels sustainable.

  • You feel disconnected from your sense of purpose, meaning, or direction.

  • You want to create a more balanced, fulfilling, and sustainable way of living.

My Approach

Wellness-Oriented & Trauma-Informed

My work recognizes the connection between emotional, physical, relational, and environmental wellbeing. Together, we'll explore not only what is causing distress, but also the strengths and resources that support healing and growth.

Culturally Responsive

Having lived and worked across multiple countries and cultures, I understand that identity, belonging, family expectations, and life experiences shape how people make meaning of their lives and their environments. Therapy honors the context that makes you who you are.

Integrative & Person-Centered

I draw from evidence-based approaches including motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, and strengths-based practice to support goals that are meaningful to you.

Areas of Focus

People seek therapy for many different reasons, often shaped by multiple and interconnected areas of life. Below are some of the experiences and concerns I commonly support.

Reproductive, Perinatal & Family Wellbeing

The journey to parenthood and the realities of caregiving can bring joy, grief, uncertainty, and profound change. I offer support through the emotional dimensions of these experiences.

  • Fertility challenges and reproductive decisions

  • Pregnancy and postpartum adjustment

  • Parenting transitions and caregiver stress

  • Balancing personal wellbeing with family responsibilities

Parenting Students & Caregiving Roles

Supporting others can be meaningful, but it can also be demanding. This work focuses on helping people care for themselves while managing responsibilities to others.

  • Academic stress and performance pressure

  • Parenting while pursuing educational goals

  • Caregiving responsibilities and role strain

  • Burnout among helping professionals

Meaning, Purpose & Belonging

Sometimes distress is not only about symptoms. It can emerge when we feel disconnected from our values, our sense of purpose, or the life we want to be living. Therapy can provide space to explore who you are, what matters to you, and how to move toward a life that feels more aligned.

  • Identity, belonging, and sense of purpose

  • Life transitions, loss, or significant change

  • Feeling stuck, disconnected, or directionless

  • Questions of meaning, values, and fulfillment

  • Navigating environments that feel isolating or exclusionary

  • Racialized, cultural, or systemic stress and discrimination

Culture, Identity & Home

Our experiences are shaped by the cultures, communities, and systems we move through. Therapy can provide space to explore what it means to build a life across cultures, identities, communities, and places.

  • Living across cultures, languages, or national contexts

  • Immigration, relocation, and major cultural transitions

  • Feeling "between" identities, communities, or places

  • Navigating family expectations and cultural values

  • Feeling unseen, misunderstood, or isolated within dominant systems

Anxiety, Stress & Burnout

When the demands of life begin to exceed the resources available to meet them, it can leave people feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves.

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • Difficulty slowing down or resting

  • Feeling overwhelmed by competing demands

Relationships & Life Transitions

Relationships, roles, and life circumstances are constantly evolving. Therapy can provide support through periods of uncertainty, change, and adjustment.

  • Relationship and communication challenges

  • Separation, divorce, and rebuilding

  • Family conflict and boundary-setting

  • Major life transitions and identity shifts

What to Expect

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, a major life transition, relationship challenges, caregiving responsibilities, or questions of identity and belonging, therapy provides space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. Our work together will be collaborative, practical, and tailored to your life. We will explore not only the challenges bringing you to therapy, but also the strengths, values, relationships, and resources that can support meaningful and lasting change.

You don't have to carry it all alone.
